Family run and borne from a passion for all things sporty and outdoors and our love for surfing, skiing (both Alpine and Nordic), cycling, sailing and all things water-based the centre offers a great location to get out on the beautiful sheltered waters of the Geopark area of Torbay.
Ever thought of taking your dog out with you kayaking or paddleboarding in Torbay? …well here at Broadsands Beach Watersports Centre we can even provide you with a buoyancy aid for your ‘pooch’. We have XS, small and medium sizes so you really can see if your doggie can paddle.

Features & facilities at Broadsands
We have a small unisex changing room and we can store your valuables for you whilst you are out having fun on the water and we can even lend you a waterproof watch and waterproof phone case to make your time on the water all the more enjoyable and stress-free.
The beach is served by a near 1,000 space ‘pay and display’ car park.
Card payments are welcome.
Basic shore based tuition is included from our British Canoeing paddlesport qualified coaches and means that even complete novices will hit the water with an understanding of the basic principles.
Personal Flotation Devices (PFD’S a.k.a buoyancy aids) are included in all the hire rates and must be worn at all times and our safety boat is always ready, should it be needed and wetsuits are also available.
Safety cover is provided by our high speed jetski and with all our staff being RYA jetski trained your safety is always our top priority.
With an operating season from the beginning of April through until the end of October and late night opening throughout the season there really is no excuse not to come to Broadsands, even after work.
You can even check the current conditions on our “Broadsands Live” page with a live 24/7 webcam and live weather station including temperature, wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, UV index and relative humidity – ensuring you have all the up-to-date information necessary for your visit to the beach.
If watersports action isn’t your thing then why not simply enjoy a relaxing day at the beach and chill out in a deck chair, snooze on a sun lounger or get a bit of shelter from the sun under a parasol or behind a windbreak – all of which can be hired from our office on the promenade.
